Charter of the Darlington Volunteer Bushfire Brigade

Within the provisions of the Bush Fires Act, Bush Fires Act Regulations and Mundaring Shire Council's by-laws and policies the Darlington Bush Fire Brigade aims to:

      (a) Provide a fire prevention, fire fighting and fire advisory service to the citizens of the Shire of Mundaring.

      (b) Be an active body in the areas of fire suppression, fire prevention and any matters relating to fire safety.

      (c) Encourage and foster public awareness of the dangers of bushfires.

      (d) Advise the Shire of Mundaring, through the Bush Fire Advisory Committee, on all matters relating to the management of Bush Fire Brigades.

      (e) Assist and co-operate with all other fire brigades, including West Australian Fire Brigade, Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades within the Shire of Mundaring, Department of Conservation and Land Management Fire Fighting Organisation and Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades from other Shires.

With the development of the relationship with the Fire and Emergency Services Authority the Brigade is conducting a review of this charter and will update it to reflect the new roles now expected of the Brigade and to build on those already the mainstay of the Brigade.
