The Inaguaral Darlington Fire Expo The inaguaral Darlington Fire Expo was held at the Darlington Fire Station and on the adjacent Darlington Oval on the 5th April 2003. The Expo was designed to provide an opportunity for the Community to interact with the Fire Services and featured static, active and interactive displays. A highlight of the day was a visit by a Helitanker that are now proving to be a very effective addition to the firefighting toolset available to Bushfire Fighters in Western Australia. Examples of Bushfire Fighting Vehicles The Expo was attended by Midland Fire and Rescue (above) and also by the 34 tankers from Stoneville and Parkeville (below). Darling Range Communictions Darling Range Brigade brought the Forward Control Unit to the Expo. The Swan View Emergency Services Cadet Unit assisted there and generally over the day. Satellite Tracking Over the last few seasons the Forward Control Unit has successfully used GPS to track the locations of firefighting units.
